‘Because He first loved Us’ is a Christian devotional blog, with some articles based on researched topics and summarised preaching. The goal is to encourage one another.
My husband, Sam and I are serving God in a church in Verviers, Belgium. Verviers has about 56 000 inhabitants and is famous for its wool washing industry, which no longer exists as chemicals were discovered in other countries which could be used to prepare the water as required at a lower cost.
Our church is part of the Assemblies of God group of churches and Sam and his father, Howard Evans, are pastors of ‘Temple Evangelique’ which was founded by Sam’s grandfather, Thomas Evans, who came over from England in 1948.
Our local church has a service on Sundays at 10am, rue Lucien Defays 12 in Verviers. Don’t hesitate to pop in if you’re nearby. More infos here: eglise-verviers-harmonie.com
Howard, Sam, Philippe and Lorinda are part of the worship team and Howard, Sam and Philippe are responsible for delivering the word of God. They are also involved in all the day to day pastoring activities.
Sam and I have three boys who are a delight to us and we love seeing them grow and learn.

We hope to be a blessing to the church and bring God’s love to all people including those outside the church.
We are excited about serving the Lord here in Verviers, life with God is full and although it has its challenges we are always beyond blessed by our faithful God.
